The Alliance for the Defense of Protected Areas is made up of more than 30 civil society organizations from different regions of the country that have joined together to contribute to the effective conservation of Patagonia's protected areas.
Save Patagonia is a campaign promoted by the Alliance for the Defense of Protected Areas, which seeks to remove salmon farming concessions within national parks and national reserves, without relocation.
We promote the conservation role of protected areas, which belong to all the inhabitants of the country. We are convinced that Chile requires concrete guarantees for the effective protection of Patagonia's protected areas and the fulfillment of the reasons for their creation.
We are focused on ensuring that the salmon industry complies with current regulations, which means respecting both the Washington Convention that protects protected areas, as well as the Law on General Bases of the Environment and the Law on Fishing and Aquaculture, which delimit the environmental and productive actions of the companies.
We call on the entire community to take action to defend the protected areas of Chilean Patagonia. Patagonia's protected areas are at risk.
